The Forest is an open woodland arena of geysers, campsites, caves and tree cover. Its long, unobstructed sightlines make it the giant's favourite hunting ground — when a visibility pulse hits, there is very little between the giant and a highlighted survivor.

Landmarks & layout
Learn these before you queue — knowing where the campfire, corridors and refuges are is the difference between a planned relocation and a panicked one.
| Landmark | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Central Campfire | High-traffic spawn hub. Everyone lands near it, so it is the first place the giant checks — leave within the opening minute. |
| Geyser Fields / hot springs | Outer-ring navigation markers that help you orient during a panicked relocation. |
| Caves | Transition cover, not a permanent hide. A giant that spots you entering will camp the mouth after a pulse. |
| Tree lines | Line-of-sight breaks you chain together between pulses. |
| Gate areas (Alpha / Beta / Charlie) | The lobby-gate spawn references carried onto the map. |
Best hiding spots on Forest
Hiding spots are temporary cover between visibility pulses, never permanent safe zones — the rule is one spot per pulse, then move.
- Outer bushes (enterable foliage away from the campfire)
- Cave mouths (transition only — exit before the giant camps the entrance)
- Tree lines (sightline breaks between pulses)
- Geyser edges (partial cover and waypoints)
Survivor strategy
Run a disciplined perimeter loop — campsite edge, geyser field, cave mouth, tree line — and rotate to a new sector on every pulse. Leave the central campfire early and never settle into one bush for the whole night.
Giant strategy
Use each pulse to read the field, intercept on the outer ring, and haunt cave exits with G. After roughly 3:00 AM, camp the cave exits where relocating survivors funnel.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Forest map good for survivors or giants?
The Forest is giant-favored. Its open sightlines let the giant convert a visibility pulse straight into a chase, so survivors have to keep moving. Neither read is fixed — the giant is one player on a two-button kit, so a squad that calls each pulse can still flip the map.
What are the best hiding spots on Forest?
Outer bushes (enterable foliage away from the campfire); Cave mouths (transition only — exit before the giant camps the entrance); Tree lines (sightline breaks between pulses) — but each is only cover between visibility pulses, never a permanent safe zone. Move to a fresh spot on every highlight and keep a second exit close.
